Welcome to 2021!
My name is Achenyo and I'm the CEO of MitiMeth .
The year 2020 will certainly go down in history as one of the most unforgettable and peculiar years we've ever lived through.
Like most business, we had our challenges at MitiMeth, but we had some opportunities evolve this year and recorded some wins as well. I'd like to share some of them with you.
We moved from a one branch business to two, when we opened our second office in Lagos right under the bridge at LASWA Yard (Falomo Jetty). We are super grateful for our partnership with Lagos State Waterways Authority.
The pandemic exposed the vulnerability of several supply chains including ours. Despite the supply chain disruption brought about by the pandemic, we were still able to take 281,000 yards of woven hyacinth yarn from our artisans. This also meant our 140+ homebased artisans kept busy with creating woven masterpieces and were able to earn livelihoods from this activity.
In collaboration with Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), we trained 100 women and youth with the requisite skills to transform water hyacinth into valuable handcrafted materials such as bags, mats, handmade paper and ornaments.
We got an incredible opportunity to participate in the 2020 NY NOW Digital Market, AND made it to the Emerging Brands Award as a finalist! To crown it all, MitiMeth secured five new partnership opportunities which span across new technology, product development, and trade. More details on these partnerships will come in 2021.
It is important to share these progresses with you because YOU are a part of our success story. A part you played all year long through your various interactions with our brand- via purchases, engagement, compliments etc.
A BIG Thank you! May 2021 be full of milestone celebrations for us all.
Happy New Year.
Warmest Regards,
Achenyo Idachaba-Obaro
